Frequently Asked Questions

How does pneumatic height adjustment work?

A lever-activated pneumatic air cylinder adjusts the desk smoothly anywhere between 27.5 and 44.5 inches. There's no electricity required and no motor noise. The cylinder holds your chosen height without needing to be locked.

Why pneumatic instead of electric?

Pneumatic desks adjust quickly without power and don't have motors that can wear out. They're quieter than electric desks and work in any location regardless of outlet access. Electric desks are easier for frequent multi-position users since they're button-controlled.

What size is the desktop?

The desktop measures 56 inches wide by 29.5 inches deep. It's a generous work surface with plenty of room for multiple monitors.

What's the height range and weight capacity?

The desk adjusts between 27.5 and 44.5 inches with a weight capacity of 150 lbs.

What's the desktop made of?

The desktop is MDF with a PVC film finish in scratch-resistant teak. The chamfered edges keep forearms comfortable while typing and working.

What's the frame made of?

The frame is constructed with two sturdy steel legs, each reinforced with durable inner legs. The finish is black powder-coated steel with clear anodized inner legs. Four chrome glides serve as the foot type.

How heavy is the desk and does it require assembly?

The desk weighs 68 lbs. Minimal assembly is required. The desk meets ANSI/BIFMA standards.

How does this compare to the Electric Stand Up Desk?

The Pneumatic uses a lever-activated air cylinder and has no motors. The Electric uses two motors with push-button control and memory presets. The Electric reaches a higher max height (51.6 inches vs 44.5 inches) and supports more weight (256 lbs vs 150 lbs). The Pneumatic costs less and needs no power.

Is the lever easy to operate?

Yes. The lever activates the pneumatic cylinder, which then lets the desk move with light pressure. You don't need significant force to change heights.
