Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Manual Adjustable Student Desk and how does it adjust?

The desk has four legs that adjust individually using a hex wrench to marked inch lines. It's a manual, non-mechanical adjustment system, which makes it more durable and lower-cost than crank or pneumatic versions.

What's the height range?

The desk adjusts between 24.5 inches and 42 inches high, which covers elementary through high school student heights.

What grade levels is this designed for?

Luxor lists the desk as ideal for elementary through high school. The wide adjustment range lets a single desk fit students across multiple grade levels.

What classroom storage does it include?

The desk has an open book box and an open lower shelf, plus multiple hooks for book bags and coats. These eliminate classroom clutter and give students dedicated space for their belongings.

Is it certified for classroom use?

Yes. The desk meets ANSI/BIFMA and CPSIA standards, which cover both commercial furniture safety and children's product safety standards.

How does manual adjustment compare to crank or pneumatic?

Manual adjustment uses a hex wrench to change each leg's height. It's slower than crank or pneumatic but cheaper, simpler, and less prone to mechanical failure. Use this version when you don't expect to change height often.

Does it help student focus?

Luxor lists the desk as proven to increase student focus and ability to stay on task. Standing-desk classrooms are widely studied for improving engagement and reducing restless behavior.

Why choose manual adjustment over crank or pneumatic at this price point?

Manual adjustment with a hex wrench is the most durable system since there are no mechanical parts that can wear out. Crank and pneumatic mechanisms can fail over years of daily classroom use; a simple bolt adjustment doesn't. Pick manual when long-term reliability and low cost matter more than quick changes.

Is this for individual students or shared use?

It works for both. Assign one desk per student in fixed-seating classrooms, or use the height range to accommodate different students in shared-use spaces. Adjustment happens between sessions rather than during them.

Can my school order multiple desks and who do I contact?
