The full seating range in one place
The Sitting collection is the catch-all for every seat at Active Goods. Ergonomic office chairs, active sitting designs, kneeling chairs, wobble chairs, stools, and exercise-integrated seats, all in one browse so you can compare across categories before settling on a type.
It's the widest view of seating on the site, and the right starting point when you haven't picked a category yet.
How the Sitting collection splits up
Three sub-collections cut into Sitting from different angles, and most chairs show up in more than one.
- Office Chairs groups by brand. Focused on Varier and CoreChair, both built around movement and long-term ownership.
- Active Chairs groups by mechanism. Anything that moves with you while you sit, across every brand we carry.
- Stools groups by form factor. Wobble stools, perching stools, sit-stand stools, and classroom plastic stools.
Some seats show up in more than one sub-collection. A sit-stand stool, for instance, fits in Office Chairs as a brand product, Active Chairs as a movement-based seat, and Stools as a stool. Sitting is where everything lives together.
Active sitting versus traditional ergonomic seating
These are two different answers to the same problem, and most people end up wanting one or the other depending on how they work.
A traditional ergonomic chair supports a fixed seated posture with lumbar contact, adjustable arms, and tilt control. It's the right answer if you need to stay still for focused work like writing or detail tasks.
An active chair builds movement into the seat itself, so your body keeps making small constant adjustments throughout the day. It's the better fit if your back stiffens up from staying in one position, or if you want more energy at the end of a workday.
A lot of our customers run both. One chair for focused work, another for switching things up, and the whole day stays more comfortable.
Sizing for kids and shared workspaces
In homes where one chair handles a few people, adjustability matters more than peak comfort. Adjustable wobble chairs cover a wide growth range and let one chair last across multiple school years. Most sit-stand stools span enough range to fit several people in the same household.
For kids of any size, the rule is the same: feet flat on the floor, knees at hip level, screen at eye level. A correctly sized active chair works better than an oversized ergonomic one.
How long will the chair last?
A chair that lasts ten years often costs less per year than one you replace every three. The ownership window matters as much as the sticker price.
- Varier chairs: laminated beech and ash frames, Kvadrat fabric options, 7-year warranty on wood and 5-year on mechanical parts.
- CoreChair: 8-year warranty, sculpted seat, replacement parts available through us.
- Kore wobble chairs: moulded plastic shells with gas-cylinder actuators. Replacement actuators sold separately if a chair ever needs one.
